P2DNZ workshop discusses animal nutrition
In April, approximately 50 experts from the livestock feed industry, dairy processors and academia, took part in the Pathways to Dairy Net Zero (P2DNZ) Animal Nutrition workshop in Leiden, Netherlands. The workstream is sponsored by Trouw Nutrition and the workshop was led by J.J. Degan who is the Global Manager, Ruminants at Trouw Nutrition.
As a result of two days of dialogue and analysis, the following areas were agreed as workstream priorities:
- Improvement of dairy farming systems
- Improvement of dairy feeding systems
- Improvement on concepts for faster adaptations on farm
- Carbon reduction Database providing impact values from mitigation strategies
Next steps will be taken by smaller focussed work groups that will focus on the areas above.
If you are actively engaged in dairy feeding work and would like to engage and benefit from this collaborative effort that will push the mitigation boundaries from dairy feeding, please do let us know. The most effective outcomes will be generated through collaborative efforts.
