The Annual DSF Members Meeting was held virtually on 23 September and we were delighted to have so many joining us. The meeting was moderated by DSF Chairman, Donald Moore, and well over 100 participants from 25 different countries attended.
The meeting theme was "The Role of the DSF in a Changing Sustainable Food System" and featured thought provoking presentations from Professor Tim Lang of City University's London Centre for Food Policy and Dr Jason Clay, Senior Vice President, Markets & Executive Director, Markets Institute, WWF as keynote speakers.
DSF Director Brian Lindsay set the scene for the meeting with his presentation with a summary of the aggregated 2019 DSF Members data and the considerable progress made by members grass roots sustainability activities and reporting, compared to 2018.
DSF Governors, Dr Judith Bryans (International Dairy Federation) and Dr David Nation (Dairy Australia) conducted a facilitated discussion on a DSF for the future with valuable input from those attending. Finally, Mr Jay Waldvogel, Senior Vice President of Strategy & International Development, Dairy Farmers of America, talked on Dairy –providing responsible and sustainable nutrition. Despite being a virtual event, delegates were able to participate in a Q and A dialogue with the speakers, and live polls were used by the speakers on specific components of dairy sustainability.
