DSF Members Webinar 2021 Programme
DSF Members Webinar 2021 Programme
In January we heard from Hochwald Foods, Germany, Leo van Sijll, who gave us a fascinating insight into their efforts on the Rural Economies. Members learned about the position and structure of the dairy sector in Germany, and the journey Hochwald Foods took as a result of their recently renewed Materiality Analysis. The milk price paid to the members/farmers came out as the number one priority across many stakeholders, not only the farmers. This outcome, together with the ongoing changes in the structure of milk production and in practically all other areas of agriculture, further raised their awareness in regards to the responsibility of Hochwald’s role in supporting rural economies being vibrant and in sustaining the livelihood in rural areas.
In the February webinar two DSF Implementing members as speakers - from Peru and Italy – provided detailed insights on their Product Safety and Quality programs. Emilio Moreno Muñoz, Maintenance Director for Gloria S.A., Peru explained how their business focused on product safety and quality at the various stages of their value chain. Piercristiano Brazzale, Co-CEO of the Brazzale Dairy Company Group, Italy shared the journey that Brazzale S.p.A. has been through over many years (being Italy’s oldest dairy company) to ensure the safety and quality of their core product, cheese though also other dairy products they are producing, starting at the supplying farms. In addition to this, Piercristiano as the current president of the International Dairy Federation (IDF) outlined the work that the IDF undertakes to ensure that dairy is operating to the best possible standards and procedures to guarantee the integrity of dairy products.
