New Carbon Trading resource released

Global Dairy Platform (GDP) and Quantis have worked in partnership to produce a brochure Carbon credits and the dairy sector: to sell or not to sell?  The carbon market is growing in response to voluntary and regulatory sustainability targets and schemes and yet there is currently no established international standard or governance structure in place to manage carbon credits and how they are traded.

This briefing paper provides background information and practical next steps to determine whether to sell carbon credits without risking the dairy sector’s social license to operate. The document explores what questions a dairy farmer should be prepared to answer regarding selling of carbon credits and also calls for greater alignment of the credit market, claim frameworks and climate science.
