New DSF Governors
We are now pleased to report that the DSF has a full complement of Governors under the current DSF strategy. Over the last four months the DSF has been working with the World Farmers Organisation in identifying who their new Governor representative would be (office holder elections were needed) and with Dairy Asia to whom we have two Governor seats allocated.
Daniel Pelegrina – World Farmers Organisation (Argentina)
Daniel Pelegrina was born in Mendoza, Argentina. He is a farmer and has an agricultural engineering degree with a specialization in Agricultural Economics.
In 2017, he assumed the presidency of Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA – the federal organization representing and supporting agricultural industry in Argentina and a member of the WFO). He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the SRA since 1991, sitting on several committees and served as coordinator of the Rural Information Center and the Dairy Committee. From 2002 to 2012 he was in charge of the Institute of Economic Studies and the Political Relations Commission.
Thanawat Tiensen – Dairy Asia (Thailand)
Thanawat Tiensin is the current Vice Chair of Dairy Asia. He started his career as a veterinary practitioner in the south of Thailand. Currently, he is Assistant Director General and Senior Expert in International Trade and Veterinary Issues, Department of Livestock Development (DLD), Thailand. In addition, he is also a member of the Committee on CG-CSR and the Committee on International Dairy Cooperation and Special Activities of the Dairy Farming Promotion Organization of Thailand (DPO). Thanawat has been involved with Dairy Asia since the platform was initiated.
Dr Zhao Wei is a Board member of Dairy Asia. He completed his Ph.D. majoring in Processing and Storage of Agriculture Products at China Agricultural University in June 2016. He joined Dairy Association of China (DAC) as a livestock engineer in August 2008 and became the Deputy Director of International Department of DAC in July 2017.
