2025 DSF Webinar Programme
2025 DSF Webinar Programme
Sustainability in action on dairy farms is the theme for the 2025 series of webinars. The webinars will be featuring farmers sharing their unique perspectives of sustainability and the innovative actions they are implementing on their farms. We are confident these inspirational sessions from a number of dairy regions will provide insights and motivation for actions that can be applied in other dairy systems. Webinars from North America, Oceania, Africa, Europe and Latin America have been arranged. Details of dates and how to register to attend will be emailed to DSF members soon.
Please save the date for the first one – North America on 26 February at 20h00 – 21h00 (UK time), which will feature Sean Smith from Canada & a farmer (tbc) from the U.S.A.
Sean is a third generation dairy farmer from Manitoba, western Canada where he farms with his parents Steven and Marie Smith under the farm name Clanman Jerseys Ltd. The Smiths milk 60 pure bred jersey cows using a DeLaval VMS robotic milking system and the cows are housed in a compost bedded pack barn. Pasture management plays a major role in the summer months when both the milking herd as well as young stock are pastured using adaptive multi-paddock grazing management. Pastures consist of both multi-species perennial mixes as well as multi-species annual mixes. Winter forage is produced on farm and also consists of both perennial and annual mixes. Sustainability and preservation of wild habitat has always been a priority on the farm and Sean will explain why they have put regenerative agriculture and sustainable soil practices at the forefront of their farming operation.
Details of how to register to attend will be emailed to DSF members shortly, along with future webinar dates.
