DSF Webinar Programme for Members continues
DSF Webinar Programme for Members continues
Our DSF Webinar programme continues to be well received and supported by members across the globe. We are working our way through the DSF criteria and are very grateful to all our member speakers who have kindly volunteered to share with us their programs addressing DSF priority criteria. In June we heard from Danone colleagues outlining their comprehensive Soil Health Program on farms in North America. In July we enjoyed hearing from FrieslandCampina’s Guus Van Laarhoven, who spoke about their collaborative approach to monitoring biodiversity on dairy farms and then a dual presentation on Improving water efficiency and quality. Juan Ignacio Alonso outlined Mastellone’s water efficiency journey in Argentina over the last 9 years in processing sites, followed by Fonterra’s Mat Cullen who gave an insight into their farmer support programme for improving water quality in New Zealand.
This month we have webinars from Chile’s Consorcio Lechero, Alejandra Viedma, presenting on their Animal Welfare Protocol to improve Dairy Cow & calf welfare. Our second dual presentation this month is on Responsible working environment in the dairy value chain – keeping our people safe on farms and in processing sites with Dairy Australia’s Helen Dornom and Arla Foods Susanne Andersen.
Webinars will continue on a monthly basis (missing September), covering the remaining DSF criteria, starting with GHG Emissions, on October 14 at 13h00 (UK time). DSF Members - if you have missed a webinar and want to watch it, all recordings and slides can be found on the DSF Extranet along with details of the remaining Webinar programme.
If you have a development programme or project focused on addressing any of the remaining criteria, we are seeking willing members to present on the following priorities: Waste (Nov 18), Market Development (Dec 9), Rural Economies (Jan 20) and Product Safety & Quality (Feb 10) – please contact the DSF secretariat . By sharing different approaches is how we can all progress as a sector. None of us has all the answers!
