Gary Philip - Fonterra Co-operative Group

Within Fonterra’s Group Social Responsibility team, which leads the development of Fonterra’s social responsibility strategy to drive sustainable value for stakeholders in the widest sense, Gary is responsible for performance monitoring, public reporting and other disclosures.

Gary started his career in a research and development, working on sensory robotics for manufacturing assembly.

He moved to New Zealand in 2000, beginning his association with the dairy sector and Fonterra before its formation in 2001. He has delivered many large programmes including milk tanker scheduling and dispatch, supplier payments and Fonterra Milk for Schools.

Chris Brown - ASDA

Chris Brown is the Senior Director Sustainable Business at ASDA Stores. He worked in Government before joining the Meat and Livestock Commission as Beef Strategy Manager.

Chris moved into retail as Agriculture Technologist with Marks and Spencer. He joined ASDA as Agriculture Development Manager with a remit to develop ASDA strategies and activities across all sectors of agriculture.  Extended role to Head of Ethical and Sustainable Sourcing. He was appointed to his present role in 2013 covering waste/ resource management, communications and sourcing.
